Leo Breyer

October 2, 1930 — February 20, 2016

Leo P. Breyer, age 85 of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 20, 2016, surrounded by his family, at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, in Faribault. Interment will be held at the St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to services.

Leo Peter, the son of Peter and Minerva (Simon) Breyer, was born on October 2, 1930 in Hampton, MN. On May 6, 1961 he was united in marriage to Julia Knopps at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. Julia preceded him in death on February 4, 2009. Leo worked for many years at Jerome Foods and retired from the Shipping Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening and watching softball games at Alexander Park.

He is survived by his three children, Brenda (Jim) Steffl, Beverly (Mike) Eiler and Patrick (Sakun) Breyer, all of Faribault; by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; by his siblings, Harold Breyer of Hugo, MN, Lucille (LaVerne) Wahl of the Twin Citites and Geraldine Mell of Edina, MN and by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, by two daughters, Tamera and Darlene Breyer, by a granddaughter, by his twin sister, Leona (Vince) Vincent and by three brothers, Donald, Robert and Roger Breyer.
