Lawrence Reuvers

Lawrence W. Reuvers, age 77, of Faribault, passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family.             Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Dr., Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault, with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.             Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.             Memorials may be designated to Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Divine Mercy Catholic School, Bethlehem Academy, St. Vincent de Paul, or Faribault Area Hospice in memory of Larry.             Lawrence William Reuvers, the son of Adrian and Mary (Gillen) Reuvers, was born on August 14, 1933 in Faribault. At a young age he farmed with his family and later served in the United States Army. Following his military service he returned home to continue farming. He was united in marriage to Beverly Storch on July 8, 1961 at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Faribault. Larry was a lifelong farmer, and farmed in Forest Township since 1964, which is now operated by his son Adrian. He also dedicated his time to helping others, through building houses with Habitat for Humanity, providing assistant at St. Vincent de Paul, and took great joy in participating in the youth mission trips through Divine Mercy Church. He was a member of the Faribault Council 889 Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters, and Catholic Aid Association.             He is survived by his wife, Beverly; five children, Marianne Reuvers of Prior Lake, Adrian (Kristine) Reuvers of Faribault, Jerome Reuvers of Faribault, Allen (Amy) Reuvers of Lakeville, Barbara (Brent) Stuit of Hospers, IA; nine grandchildren, Joshua (Beth), Isaiah, and Sara Reuvers, Emily, Marla, and Mason Reuvers, and Anmarie, Brayden, and Laina Stuit; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Kyler Reuvers; two brothers, James (Suzanne) Reuvers of Dundas and Thomas (Betty) Reuvers of Faribault; and many other relatives and friends.             He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Joanne Reuvers and Sister Adriane Reuvers, O.S.B.
