Lawrence "Larry" Gable, age 63, of Northfield, MN, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016, at his home following a lengthy battle with ALS.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault, MN, with Pastor Julia Kallsen, chaplain of Northfield Hospice, officiating.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Lawrence Robert was born on December 20, 1952, in Faribault to Melvin and Lois (Spitzack) Gable. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1972, and then served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1973 - 1977. Larry was united in marriage to Mary Pansier on June 14, 1980 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Medford, MN. He had a lengthy career working as a security guard, with the last 23 years with Securitas Security of St. Paul. Larry enjoyed computers, traveling, and swimming.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Gable of Northfield; daughters, Kristina Gable (Alex Gillingham) of Northfield, Shannon Gable of Northfield, and Karen (Jeff) Gillen of Faribault; granddaughters, Katelyn Gable of Northfield, and Lucy Gillen of Faribault; his mother, Lois Gable (Richard "Butch" Morse) of Faribault; brother, Mike Gable of Faribault; and sister, Vickie Thibodeau of Faribault; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Dylan Nordhausen; sister, Joyce Larson; father, Melvin Gable; and his grandparents.
Larry's mother Lois Gable passed away unexpectedly on October 26, 2016. May she rest in peace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Northfield Hospice in memory of Larry.
