LaVonne Marie Remmey

LaVonne M. Remmey, age 85, of Faribault, MN, passed away on September 16, 2024, at New Perspective Senior Living.

LaVonne Marie was born on March 17, 1939, at Owatonna Hospital to Kenneth and Metha (Hinchley) Reiter. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. LaVonne graduated from Owatonna High School in the Class of 1957. She was employed at Thorp Loan until her marriage to Bruce Remmey at First English Lutheran Church on October 10, 1959. Then she worked at the Faribault Woolen Mill for 20 years retiring in 2001.

She is survived by her children, Douglas Remmey of Faribault, Robyn (Dan) Weed of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Bruce Remmey Jr. (Ryan Hopkins) of West Des Moines, IA; her grandchildren, Bruce (Sanela), Jacob (Maggie), and Laura Remmey (Jon Flicek); her great grandchildren, Leah, Armin, and Oliver Remmey; her sisters-in-law, Lylah and Shirley Remmey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, in-laws, Don and Lorraine Remmey, and brothers-in-law, Richard and Donald Remmey Jr.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at First English Lutheran Church, Faribault with Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Private family interment will be held at Maple Lawn Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. prior to the service at church.
