Larry E. Larson

Larry E. Larson, age 84 of Faribault, MN passed away on January 15, 2025 at The Emeralds at Faribault.

Larry Edward, the son of Oliver Sr. and Ruth (Braaten) Larson, was born on May 24, 1940 in Faribault, MN. He grew up in Faribault and graduated from Faribault High School with the Class of 1958. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served until 1962. He moved back and worked as a diesel mechanic for Detroit Diesel. He married Julie Olson in 1964 at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault. They had two children together and were later divorced. He worked as a general mechanic for many years before ending his career at Bosch Tool. When he wasn’t working, Larry enjoyed camping, operating his ham radio, taking pictures, going to Brainerd for motorcycle club races, and reading Sci-Fi books. He also enjoyed riding his bicycle and doing many 100-mile rides, riding his motorcycle, listening to death metal and many other types of music. Larry was a member of the Faribault Rifle & Pistol Club and enjoyed going to the range. He loved spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his children, Eric Larson and Jennifer (Richard) Stokes; grandchildren, Jason (Sarah), Nichole, and Braden Larson; brother, Oliver (Diane) Larson Jr.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and former wife, Julie Larson.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 9:30 A.M. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory, Faribault with a Time of Sharing starting at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park.
