Lambert M. Van Haren, age 82 of Faribault, MN passed away on Monday, December 16, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault with Fr. Brandon Theisen officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday for one hour prior to services.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to Divine Mercy Catholic School or Bethlehem Academy High School in memory of Lambert.
Lambertus Marinus, the son of Johannes and Hendricka (Kocken) Van Haren, was born on April 23, 1937 in Balgoy, Netherlands. Lambert was raised in the Netherlands and attended Agriculture School. On June 13, 1964 he was united in marriage to Johanna Loeffen in Ewijk, Netherlands. Ten days after their marriage they emigrated to the United States and joined family that was living in Faribault. Lambert began working in the construction industry and later started his own company, Van Haren Construction. He owned operated this business for 30 years and then started Van Haren Insulated Concrete Forms. He operated this business until he was 80 years old. He was a talented builder and mason. He enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, gardening, carpentry, playing cards and the Minnesota Vikings. Lambert worked for many years as a builder that participated with Habitat for Humanity and also helped with the building of the Divine Mercy Church Rectory. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and South Central Builders Association.
Lambert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Johanna Van Haren of Faribault; by his children, Theodora (Duane) Moon of South Haven, MN, Johannes (Joe) (Tammy) Van Haren of Owatonna, MN, Yvonne (Jeff) Neumann of Faribault and Michael (Faith) Van Haren of Faribault; by his grandchildren, Amanda (Chris) Delso, Katherine Van Haren, Annie Van Haren, Hudson Moon, Dawson Moon, Johanna Neumann (Logan Mueller), Elena Van Haren, Jacob Van Haren, Abbi Schmidt (Andrew Starcevic) and Casey Schmidt; by his siblings, Diny Heming and Joke (Jos) Niessing; inlaws, Mies Van Haren, Gerda Van Haren, Maria Smits, Bets Verbiesen, Gerda Schreven, Til (Frans) Willems and Annie Loeffen and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Father and Mother-in-law, Gerardus and Wilhelmina Loeffen, brother, Ries Van Haren, sisters, Marietje Willems Van Dijk, Til Spaan and Rieky Van Haren, inlaws, Bernard Loeffen, Tony Loeffen and Piet Loeffen and other relatives and friends.
