La June E. Hanegraaf, age 86, of Faribault, died Friday, August 8, 2008 at the District One Hospital in Faribault, following a brief illness. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Sacred Heart in Faribault. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault. Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services at the church. La June Elizabeth Brossard, the daughter of Frank and Ellen (Burke) Brossard, was born on March 25, 1922 in Waterville, MN. She graduated from Faribault High School. La June was married to William H. Hanegraaf on May 24, 1948 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1980. She worked for 26 years in customer service with Northern States Power in Faribault. She was a member of the Faribault American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary. Her life was centered on her family and friends. La June was a sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed watching Minnesota Twins games. She is survived by two daughters, Julie Thompson and Jan (Fred) Bettner, both of Faribault; son-in-law, Merle Vold of Faribault; three grandsons, Dana (Melissa) Thompson of Faribault; Shawn (Amy) Thompson of Carver, MN, and Fred (Nichole) Bettner of Plankinton, SD; three great grandchildren, Zach and Jordan Thompson of Faribault, and Connor Thompson of Carver, MN; sister, Gervise Deutsch of Rochester, MN; special caregiver, Tammy Mulder of Faribault; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Mary Vold; and sister, Thelma Hansen.
