Kevin Kanne

Kevin K. Kanne, age 58, of Faribault, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, December 12, 2010.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Paradise Center for the Arts, with Pastor Gary Wunderlich and Pastor Ray Ades from the Cannon City Community Church officiating. Interment will be held at the Cannon City Cemetery.    Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at the Paradise Center for the Arts on Saturday for one hour prior to services.   Kevin Keith Kanne, the son of Kennard and Delora (Beese) Kanne, was born on September 10, 1952 in Waseca, MN. As a youth Kevin worked as a newspaper carrier for the Star Tribune. During his high school years he worked in Mishek's mailroom and for Mishek Arabians and the Maplewood Cafe.  Kevin attended Waseca High School and graduated with the class of 1972 and then attended Mankato State University and earned his degree in Music Education. After college Kev had his own dump trucking company in Waseca in the 1980's and '90's and worked for Imaging Associates. In 1985 he married Vicki Gould and they moved to Faribault. For the past 25 years he operated Kanne Orchard during weekends in September and October. Kevin was also a local REALTOR for Marketlink realty and occasionally drove for Clemons Bus Company in Waseca. Music was a big part of Kevin's life and he was a musician with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra for 35 years. He has played percussion and baritone horn with many local groups including community theatre productions, the Bandshell Brass, Cannon Valley Regional Orchestra, The Special Delivery Band of Mankato, and most recently Red Rock Canyon and Porchlight. Kevin was an active member of the Cannon City Community Church, The St. Paul Area Association of REALTORS, committees for The Paradise Center for the Arts, and The Vintage Brass Festival.   Kevin is survived by his wife Vicki of Faribault; by his children, Kathleen and Kenneth of Faribault; by his mother Delora Kanne of Faribault; by his sisters, Karen (Bob) Kolas of Minneapolis, Korrinne Kanne of Faribault, and Kendra Kahnke of Winnett, MT; by his sister-in-law, Mary (Glenn) Ellison of Springfield, MN; by nephews, Brent, Roy, Craig and Sam Kahnke, James Ellison and by his niece, Emily Ellison and many friends.   He was preceded in death by his father, Kennard Kanne and his brother-in-law, Dave Kahnke.
