Kert E. Peterson

Kert E. Peterson, age 67, of Lonsdale, MN, formerly of Faribault, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Kert Edwin, the son of Andrew and Lillian (Thiffaut) Peterson, was born on June 6, 1956 in Faribault. Kert grew up in Walcott Township and attended Country School before attending Faribault High School. He worked as a fin press operator for Daikin Applied for many years. He was united in marriage to Judy David on September 26, 2009 at the Holy Innocents Episcopal Church at the Rice County Fair Grounds following an attempt at the Guinness Book of World Records Longest Engagement. While he wasn’t working, Kert enjoyed everything life had to offer, including, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, gardening, working with his Bobcat, four-wheeling in Dresser, WI, and spending time with his family. He was very proud to be his grandchildren’s “Poppy”. He was a Mr. Fix It, a jokester, and a prankster. He was a member of the Faribo Sno-Go Club and Local 480 Union.

Kert is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Angie Lisowski and Wendy (Dustin) Peterson; grandchildren, Bryce (Carly), Jarrett “Bear”, Isabelle, and Daxton; identical twin brother, Kent (Donna) Peterson, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon (Glen) Totten; and brother, Alan Peterson.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, Faribault with Bernadette Tatge officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Montgomery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home and will continue 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.

A special thank you to all the wonderful friends and family that visited and supported Kert and Judy during his illness. Also, to nurse Emily of Northfield Hospice and Danyelle of Minnesota Hospice for their amazing care they showed Kert.
