Kent E. Tate, age 60, of Grand Marais, MN and formerly of Faribault, MN passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN following a sudden illness.
Kent Eldon, the son of Irvin and Mavis (Anderson) Tate, was born on November 29, 1960 in Faribault, MN. Kent grew up in Faribault and graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1979. He was a jack of all trades, working various jobs throughout his life including carpentry, maintenance, mechanics, and working for a plant nursery. While he wasn’t working, he enjoyed cruising back roads, mountain biking, spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, and visiting the North Shore beaches. He loved classic cars, motorcycles, watching: John Wayne, mysteries, western, and car themed movies. Recently he was re-exploring his love for woodworking crafts for his loved one and his love for remote control vehicles.
Kent is survived by his daughters, Sara Tate and Nichole (Zach Roberts) Tate-Roberts; grandchildren, Erica, Ethan and Ciara Tate; brother, Boyd (Karen) Tate, 2 nephews, other relatives and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Tate.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault and will be announced later.
