Kenneth E. Krueger, age 102, of Hinckley, MN, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Elderwood of Hinckley.
Kenneth Edward Raymond Krueger was born in Kilkenny Township, Le Sueur County, Minnesota, on October 10, 1921, to Paul and Frances (Weiss) Krueger. He attended a variety of schools, including the Kilkenny Township rural school and Faribault schools, ultimately graduating high school from McKinley High School in Le Center, MN, in 1940. Kenny served in the U.S. Army in the European theater during World War II and was honorably discharged after the war. He then returned to his roots, working the family farm in Montgomery/Cordova Township in Le Sueur County, until his retirement. In addition to farming, Kenny worked for several years for a variety of employers, including General Mills, NSP, Green Giant Company, and for Le Sueur County, Minnesota. On May 25, 1951, Kenny was married to Ruth Cedergren of Lancaster, MN and together they lived in Kilkenny Township and Le Center. They enjoyed card playing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends until Ruth’s passing in October of 1987. On July 27, 1989, Kenny married Eileen Murray Hanley in Faribault, MN. Together they had many adventures traveling throughout the United States. They lived in Faribault, Minnesota until Eileen’s passing in December of 2010.
Kenny is survived by his brother-in-law Curtis (Connie) Cedergren, sisters-in-law Mickie Beck and Shirley Homstad, along with many nieces and nephews. Kenny now joins his parents, his brother John, his first wife Ruth (Cedergren) Krueger, and his second wife Eileen (Murray Hanley) Krueger, who all predeceased him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Dr., Faribault, MN, with Father Cory Rohlfing officiating. Visitation will be held for half an hour prior to Mass. Military Honors will be provided by the Rice County Central Veteran’s Association.
Kenny will be buried at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 2 P.M.
Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory.
