Kathryn Witte

Kathryn (Mrs. Harold) Witte, age 80, of Faribault, died Thursday, May 14, 2009, at the Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.    Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault with Chris Sorensen Woodside officiating. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.      Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m.      Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.    Kathryn Lorraine Helgeson, the daughter of Edward and Emily (Smith) Helgeson, was born on February 26, 1929 in Cherry Grove Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota. She attended Kenyon High School and graduated with the class of 1947.  On October 5, 1949 she was united in marriage to Leo DuChene.  Mr. DuChene preceded her in death on December 3, 1968. On December 12, 1970, Kathryn was united in marriage to Harold Witte in Faribault. She was a bartender for many years at Grandpa Al's and enjoyed embroidering and playing bingo. Kathryn was a member of the American Legion Post 43 Auxiliary and the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary.    She is survived by her husband Harold of Faribault; by two children Mike (Karen) DuChene of Faribault and David (Kathy) DuChene of Medford; by seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; by her sisters Carol Dobson and Mary Katra, both of Faribault; by a brother Henry (Marlette) Helgeson of Owatonna; and by other relatives and friends.    She was preceded in death by her parents, by her first husband Leo DuChene, by one son in infancy; by her sister Evelyn Van Houdt and by her brother Francis (Bud) Helgeson.
