Karen Marie, the daughter of Archie and Violet (Anderson) Baumann, was born on April 12, 1943 in Bagley, MN. As she was growing up, Karen's family moved several times because of her father's work. She graduated from Tracy High School with the class of 1961. Karen taught in the U.S. Peace Corps from 1965-1967. She also taught at St. Casimirs in Wells, Pemberton Elementary, and JWP Elementary. On October 16, 1992 she was united in marriage to Lonnie Buschow at Blue Mounds State Park in Luverne, MN. Karen enjoyed planning trips and together they journeyed to different parts of the world with good friends in retirement. Karen also had been involved as a Girl Scout Leader, as a Sunday School Teacher and organist at Medo Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Buschow of Pemberton; by daughters, Tanah (Layne) Janike of Waldorf, Amy (Ken) Nielsen of Lakeland; sons, Dan (Heidi) Sanderson of Rockford and Steven Buschow of Mankato; by eight grandchildren, Brandon Janike, Zachary Janike, Joshua Janike, Brooklyn Sanderson, Wilson Sanderson, Brock Nielsen, Jamie Nielsen and Mila Nielsen; by her parents, Archie and Violet Baumann of Janesville; by her brother, Dennis (Diane) Baumann of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Kay (Bud) Cochran of Tracy, Debbie (Chuck) Amunrud of Spring Valley and Connie (Lonny) Piche of Maplewood; by her brother in law, Wayne (Bonnie) Sanderson of Siren, WI and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
