Justin A. Salonek

Justin A. Salonek, age 33, of Owatonna, MN, passed away September 23, 2023, following a courageous battle with Ewing Sarcoma of the thyroid.

Justin Andrew was born on February 27, 1990, in Buffalo, MN, to Larry and Deborah (Grovdahl) Salonek.  He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 2008.  Justin previously worked at Pizza Hut and for the past six years worked a Willow Creek Concrete.  After nine years of sharing their lives together, he and Brandie Jo Hatfield were married on September 14, 2023.  Justin enjoyed cars, motorcycles, and riding his bike.  He was a handyman and enjoyed taking on household projects and working on cars and trucks.

He is survived by his wife, Brandie Salonek; daughter, Isla Salonek; father, Larry Salonek (Jennifer); brothers, Brandon Salonek, and Josh Salonek and his children, Summer and Annabelle Salonek; sister, Kaitlyn Steeves (Zach), and their children, Kennedy, Cameron, and Jack Steeves; longtime friend, Adam Mullenberg; family friend, Annette Prepodnik; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Deb Salonek; maternal and paternal grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault.  Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
