June W. Malecha, age 82, of Faribault, MN passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Patrick in Shieldsville, MN with Fr. Victor Valencia, officiating. Interment will be held at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Shieldsville.
Memorial visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to St. Patrick’s Church or the American Cancer Society in memory of June.
Arrangements are being completed with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
June, the daughter of Donald and Beryl (Rider) Wells, was born on January 19, 1937 in Claremont, MN. She attended Northfield High School and graduated with the class of 1955. On July 30, 1957 she was united in marriage to Norbert E. Malecha at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale, MN. After their marriage they lived in Bloomington, MN and June worked for many years at JCPenney in custom decorating. In 1985 they would move to Faribault and enjoyed living at Cedar Lake. June was an active and dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Church and loved being involved in the different activities at church. She loved to bowl and was still bowling at the age of 81. She also enjoyed sewing, ceramics, card making, golfing, card playing and spending time with all of her family.
She is survived by her five children, Jodi Malecha of Apple Valley, MN, Colleen (Gary) Brown of Maple Grove, MN, Sharon (Bill) Guenther of Apple Valley, MN, Peter Malecha (Jeanette Legenza) of Eagle River, AK and Patrick (Jen) Malecha of Juneau, AK; grandchildren, Whitney (Curtis) Gustafson, Amy (Ryan) Burgess, Tyler Brown, Becky Guenther, Matt Malecha (Lily York), Noah Malecha, Josef Malecha, Bruno Malecha, James (Emily) Bly, Mitchell Legenza and Andrew Legenza; by great grandchildren, Naomi Bly and Leonardo Gustafson and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband Norbert.
