Julie Ann Wagner Dale

June 30, 1952 — September 23, 2024

Prior Lake

Julie Ann Wagner Dale, 72, originally of Faribault, MN, suddenly but peacefully passed away from heart disease complications in her Prior Lake, MN home on the evening of Monday, September 23, 2024.

Julie was born on the 30th of June, 1952, in Morris, MN, to Bob and Marcy Wagner. She graduated from Faribault High School in 1970. Education remained a lifelong passion for Julie; she completed undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Minnesota as well as a JD at William Mitchell School of Law.

She loved children very much, both her own and those she taught. For over twenty years she dedicated her professional life to teaching special needs kids across the Southeast Twin Cities metro area, with a specific focus on children with behavioral issues. Kids who all too often would be written off by others were the kids she cared for the most. She sought out children to help everywhere from public schools to juvenile detention centers during her career.

For all her love of teaching, Julie prized most her time raising her two boys and her time with her grandchildren. She did her best to instill a spirit of empathy and unconditional love for all people in both herself and her loved ones- seeing anyone suffer always had a profound impact on her.

She loved to plan family vacations. She loved hanging out with her siblings (and bicker with them more than a little). She was a huge fan of the Beatles (especially John Lennon) and Bob Dylan. She was a voracious reader, often bringing back a dozen books from the library and devouring them all by week's end. She loved Star Trek, Seinfeld, and Frasier, and just vegging out on the couch with her family after a long day. She always made Fridays special for her kids. She loved to joke and laugh and play and brought a spirit of joy to many otherwise boring days. She was a terrible singer but she never let that stop her. She never ordered her own fries at the drive thru but would invariably try to nab some of yours- we still loved her despite this.

She is survived by her:

Eldest son- Tim Dale, and her grandson Rex Dale

Youngest son- Matt Rose, her daughter-in-law Emily Rose, and her granddaughter Aurelia Rose

Former husband of 25 years and father of her children, Ernie Dale

Partner of the last 13 years John Holle and his son, Andrew Holle

Sister- Jane Richert, her partner David Harmening, and nephew Rob Richert

Brother- Frank Wagner, her sister-in-law Cyrilla Wagner, and her nieces Annie Rogers and Katie Linardich

Sister- Nancy Wagner, her brother-in-law Eric Lombardi, her niece Elizabeth Lombardi, and her nephew Jackson Lombardi.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marcy and Bob Wagner, her brother-in-law Jim Richert, and her daughter-in-law Kate Beesch.
