Judith A. Chester

Judith A. Chester, age 83, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, at her home.

Judith Ann was born on January 31, 1940, in Faribault, MN, the daughter of Ernest and Evelyn (Stadler) Durand.  She graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1958.  Judy was married to Donald Chester on September 24, 1960, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault.  She had worked at Marigold Dairy for five years and St. Olaf College for 15 years until her retirement.  Judy enjoyed playing cards, dancing with Don, bowling, singing, puzzle making and baking.  She was a member of the Gideons, and Women’s Aglow.

She is survived by her children, Deb (Jim) Lieske of Owatonna, MN, Kat (Todd) Dahl of Brooklyn Park, MN and Greg (Stacy) Chester of Quinlan, TX; nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; her sisters, Lois Patwell of Eau Claire, WI, Diane Barnett (special friend, Ambrose Thomas) of Faribault, Sandy Kitch Ross (John) of Springfield, MA, Darlene Ashleson of Faribault, and Marge Lovaas (Dave) of Souix Falls, SD; her brother, Jerry Durand of Lakeville, MN; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don on December 3, 2023; parents, Ernest and Evelyn; and sister, Elizabeth Jean Durand.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault.  Interment will be at the Cannon City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
