Joyce Ward

Joyce J. Ward, age 81 of Faribault, MN passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault.

Joyce Joanne, the daughter of Francis E. Sr. and Vera (Asher) Rowe, was born on April 16, 1939 in Wichita, Kansas. Joyce grew up in Wichita and graduated from East High High School with the Class of 1958. Following high school, she attended Wichita State for music and got married and had three daughters. She worked as a secretary for a law firm and a real estate agency. While she wasn’t working, she was very involved in Church as a Sunday School teacher and singing in the choir. Music and singing were the loves of her life and she made a record for her parents while she was in high school. She moved to La Crosse and met Kenneth Ward, who she later married. They worked in sales together and moved to Iowa. Following his passing, Joyce moved to Faribault to be closer to family. Her family was especially important to her and she was a wonderful grandma.

She is survived by her daughters, Leila F. (Rodney) Doyel, Jamila (Dave) Dozark, and Zeina (Lance Froman) Boutni; grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Joseph, and Zoea Dozark, Bryce Boutni-Brown, and Eddy Froman; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Vera; husband, Kenneth Ward; and brother, Francis E. Rowe Jr.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. The service will also be livestreamed through a link found on Joyce’s obituary page at www.ParkerKohlFuneralHome.com.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
