Joseph "Joe" Johnson

Joseph “Joe” V. Johnson, age 63 of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Joseph Vincent, the son of Robert and Zelma (Watkins) Johnson was born on April 4, 1958 in Mason City, IA.  On September 9, 1977 he was united in marriage to Joan Ruppert in Mason City, IA. Joan preceded him in death on November 17, 2003.  Joe worked for many years as a sheet metal worker with different companies including, Iowa Mold and Tooling, King Company in Owatonna, MN and Cummins in Fridley, MN.  Joe enjoyed woodworking, working on cars, watching war movies, fishing and hunting.  He especially enjoyed time playing with his grandchildren.  Something he was very proud of was building a home on their property in Hackensack, MN with his family.

He is survived by his children, Justin Johnson of Faribault and his five children, Jennifer Williams of Faribault and her two children and Holly Johnson of Menomonie, WI and her three children; by two sisters, Elizabeth (Marvin) Engstler of Garner, IA and Ellen Johnson May of Seattle, WA and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Zelma Johnson, wife, Joan Johnson, son, Jeremy Johnson, brother, Paul Johnson, father and mother-in-law, Francis and Bonnie Ruppert, sister-in-law, Carolyn Johnson and brother-in-law, Robert Pavelka.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault.  Interment will be at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault.
