Josephine Klapperich

Josephine J. Klapperich, age 91, of Faribault, died on Monday, June 28, 2010 at her home following an extended illness.             Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. Joanna Mitchell, associate pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Denison Cemetery in Walcott Township, Rice County.             Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are being completed with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Josephine Jeanette Berghoff, the daughter of Matt and Albina (King) Berghoff, was born on February 6, 1919 in Faribault. She married Clarence Klapperich on September 17, 1940 at the Sacred Heart Church in Owatonna. In 1943 they purchased their farm in Walcott Township and farmed there for most of their married life. Clarence preceded her in death on July 17, 2004. Josephine was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and living on the farm. For the past 13 years she was a foster grandparent at A Child's Delight. She is survived by two children, Shirley (Jim) Taggart and Dale (Julie) Klapperich, both of Faribault; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Harriet Berghoff of Faribault, Verna Berghoff of Puyallup, WA, Helen Klapperich of Faribault, and Erdeen Brennan of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, John, Hiram (Phyllis), Don, and              Jim (Lucille) Berghoff; sister, Lucille (John) O'Connor; step-sister-in-law, Bobby Van Houdt; sister-in-law, Loretta (Charles) Sheahen; brothers-in-law, Roy Klapperich and Joe Brennan. Memorials may be directed to the Foster Grandparent Program in memory of Josephine.
