Joseph P. Fox, age 87 of rural Waldorf and Janesville, died on Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Janesville Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 16th at 5:00 P.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waldorf with Fr. Clayton Haberman, Celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Joseph's Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 P.M. until the hour of service, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca is handling arrangements. Joseph Peter was born November 3, 1924 in Wilton Township, Waseca County, Minnesota to Peter and Sylvia (Armstrong) Fox. Joe graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Waseca. He was united in marriage to Harriet E. Stiles on October 26, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca. Joe farmed most of his life in the Waldorf area. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waldorf, and was involved in many church and civic organizations over the years. Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, and golfing. He was a former board member of, the Smiths Mill-Janesville Sportsman's Club, and Steele-Waseca REA. He is survived by his wife Harriet; by his son, Joseph P. Fox, Jr. (special friend Dixie Moorman) of Janesville; by his daughters, Patricia (Jon) Schuch of Janesville, Susan Seim of Boyceville, WI, Shirley Vesely of Owatonna, Catherine (Doug) Southwick of Medford, and Mary Jo (Richard) Perryman of Alexandria, VA; by 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; by his sister, Lois Longe of Detroit, MI, and his sisters-in-law, Marge Fox of White Bear Lake, Micki Fox of Rapid City, and Ellen Schnorenberg of Waseca. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Howard (Adrienne), Percy, and Leonard; by his three grandchildren, Colton Schuch, Michael Perryman, and Terry Vesely Jr., and his brother-in-law, Jack Longe. Casket bearers are Joe's grandchildren: Max Fox, Samantha Jo Fox, Katrina Schuch, Easton Schuch, Shelbie Mittelstaedt, Jeana Seim, Carrie Peterson, Jess Seim, Holly Skic, D.J. Southwick, Amy Vesely, Amanda Vesely, and Travis Vesely.
