John Reint

John R. Reint, age 74, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sept. 3, 2018, at Traditions of Waterville, due to complications of Dementia. His strong will to live and the love and prayers of family and friends carried him through eight years of this terrible disease.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. A celebration of John's life and reception will be held at the Elk's Club following the service. Everyone who remembers John is invited to come to help the family celebrate his life.

John's Family would like to thank his caregivers at Traditions of Waterville and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care, love and respect that John received.

The family prefers that memorial donations be directed to the Dementia Discovery Fund or the National Parkinson's Foundation in memory of John.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.

John Robert, the son of Robert and Pearl (Haugh) Reint was born on June 22, 1944 in Faribault. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1962. He was a member of Plumbers Union Local 6 for 44 years, working mostly in southern Minnesota, until his retirement in 2006. On April 2, 1993 John married the love of his life, Cindy Lambert in Las Vegas, NV. John loved his cabin life, yearly trips to Mexico, taking his dog Monique on daily walks and Miller Lite. John worked hard and played hard. He lived a happy and fulfilling life.

The worry that we have felt watching John struggle through this terrible disease has now been replaced with a deep feeling of loss, knowing that we will never see his smiling face again. John's struggles have ended, he is finally at peace. We will miss his contagious smile, his entertaining sense of humor and his good rhythm on the dance floor. Goodbye John, we love you and miss you dearly.

Johnson of Carefree, AZ; by sisters-in-law and special friends, Kim (Ken) Favro of Faribault, MN and Rhonda (Greg) Truax of Faribault, MN; brother-in-law, Jeff Lambert of Faribault, MN; by his mother-in-law, Lois (Jack) Hewitt of Lady Lake, FL and by many special nieces and nephews and his dog Monique.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pearl; and sister, Shania Rasmussen.
