John Miller

July 30, 1942 — April 13, 2013

John D. "Jack" Miller, age 70, of Faribault, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a recent illness.

Memorial services will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. with Bernadette Tatge, Pastoral Minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association. Following burial, there will be a Celebration of Jack's life at the American Legion in Faribault.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.at the funeral home.

John David, the son of William "Bing" and Lorraine (Beaupre) Miller, was born on July 30, 1942 in Faribault. He attended Faribault High School and later enlisted in the United Sates Navy in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1965. When he returned, Jack began his forty plus year career at Despatch Industries in Lakeville. He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Bultman, and they later divorced. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar in many bands over the years and spending time with his family. Jack was a member of the Moose Lodge 2098 and a life member of the VFW Post 1562, both in Faribault.

He is survived by his children, Gerladine (Eric) Anderson of Minnetonka, William "Bill" (Amy) Miller of Faribault and Raelene (Jon) Kovaciny of Mankato; his grandchildren, Eliot & Emmet Anderson, Vianna, Simon, Tavia, Nora and Gudrun Kovaciny; his sisters, Judy Caron and Joan Boysen, both of Faribault; his mother, Lorraine Miller of Faribault; his former wife, Mary Ellen (Hank) Velzke of Faribault and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bing and by his brother in law Mike Boysen on February 23, 2013 and also by his former brother in law, Greg Liverseed.
