John Meyer

John A. Meyer, age 74 of Waterville, MN and formerly of Northfield, MN and Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 4, 2016 surrounded by his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church in Waseca, MN. Interment will be held at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.

John Arthur, the son of Arthur and Martha "Bonita" (Hendrickson) Meyer was born on June 13, 1942 in Sleepy Eye, MN. At the age of 2, John's family moved to Northfield, MN where John would attend school. In 1960 John began his service in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1964. On January 20, 1962 he was united in marriage to Karen Olson in Northfield, MN. For most of his life John was a semi-truck driver for various companies. In retirement John and Karen would spend their winters in Arizona where he enjoyed golfing and shooting pool. They would return in the spring to Waterville where he enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen Meyer of Waterville, MN; by two sons, Daniel (Debby) Meyer of Faribault, MN and Jeff Meyer and Margarita Del Real of Savage, MN; by two grandchildren, Jacob and Cassandra Meyer; by four sisters, Arvilla Neff of Farmington, MN, Ramona (Richard) Fredrickson of Northfield, MN, Cindy (Bernie) Caron of Faribault, MN and Pam (Bill) Kirkpatrick of Faribault, MN; by his sister-in-law, Barb Meyer of Northfield, MN and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by his stepmother, Gladys Meyer, by three brothers, Roger, David and Pat Meyer, by a granddaughter and grandson, and by his brother-in-law, Maynard Neff.
