John Janson

John L. Janson, age 76, of Janesville passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville, Minnesota with Father Michael Cronin and Father Clayton Haberman officiating. Interment will be held at St. Ann Cemetery in Janesville.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville and for one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

John Leonard, son of Peter and Rose (Maier) Janson, was born on May 16, 1939 in Waseca, Minnesota. His family moved to Oklahoma in 1952, where John attended and graduated from high school. They later moved back to Janesville. John owned and operated his own lawn and tilling service for many years. He was very interested in trains and history, and had fun collecting items of each. He also loved cats.

John is survived by his sisters, Helen Davis of Scottsdale, AZ and Patricia (Will) Wesley of Waterville; numerous nieces and nephews; and by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Alfred, Adrian, Rose Marie, Joan, and Bill.
