JoAnn M. Paro, age 56, of Northfield, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister of Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Faribault, officiating.

Memorial visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

JoAnn Mae Cashin, the daughter of William and Delores (Prescott) Cashin, was born on February 27, 1957 in Faribault. She graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1975. In her youth, JoAnn worked at local nursing homes and beauty shops. She married Mark Paro on November 18, 1977 in Faribault. Since their marriage they have resided in Northfield. JoAnn stayed at home to raise her children, Jacob and Brenda, and was a wonderful mother to them. She also thrived on charity work, holding garage sales to benefit those in need or simply donating clothing to them. JoAnn was passionate about her writing and even had a book of poems published. Other interests included drawing, sewing and listening to country music.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Paro of Northfield; children, Jacob Paro of Apple Valley, MN, and Brenda Paro of Long Beach, CA; brothers, Jim Cashin, Mike (Dixie) Cashin, both of Faribault, and Dave (Gloria) Cashin of California; sister, Marie (David) Schultz of Cannon Falls, MN; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Steve and Russell Cashin.
