JoAnn Delores, the daughter of Ole and Carrie (Verdahl) Barsness, was born on January 18, 1930 in Kenyon, MN. She attended Kenyon High School and graduated with the class of 1947. On January 31, 1948 she was united in marriage to Wallace Dubé at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Faribault. JoAnn worked at various businesses in Faribault including Snyder Drug, Donahue's Greenhouse and at the bakery at Hy-Vee. JoAnn was the "rock" of her family. Wally would decide to have a party and JoAnn would be the "hostess with the mostest" making sure everyone had a great time and plenty to eat. She loved to entertain, especially when it involved all of her family being there. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed her flowers and gardening. Her family was the most important part of her life. She made sure that they were all safe, happy and well taken care of. Holidays were always celebrated together when possible. Wally preceded her in death on January 12, 2004. JoAnn was an avid snowmobiler and she was a charter member of the Faribo Sno-Go Club. She was an avid Vikings fan and was also a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, a long-standing member of the Daughters of Isabella and also had been a Cub Scout and Brownie Leader.
She is survived by her five children, John Dubé of Rochester, MN, Terri (Jerry) Murdock of Faribault, Mark Dubé of Houston, TX, Sharon Banon of Faribault and Michael Dubé of Faribault; by 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; by her sister-in-law, Joan Barsness of Burnsville, MN; by two brothers-in-law, Chuck (Rose) Dubé of Faribault and Art Dubé of Minneapolis and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law, Sue Dubé, son-in-law, James Banon, twin great grandchildren, Savanna and Charlie Dubé, and by 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
