Jo Ann Almen

Jo Ann Almen, age 87, of Faribault, MN, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Faribault Senior Living in Faribault.

Jo Ann Nancy was born on February 2, 1935, in Minneapolis, MN, to Ralph and Sally (Brydzinski) Williams.  She graduated from Minneapolis Central High School in 1952 and received further schooling in secretarial training.  Jo Ann enjoyed painting, was a talented seamstress, and was a huge collector of knick knacks.  Jo Ann took a great interest in others, opening her house to many of her son’s friends who often referred to her as “ma”.  She was very proud of her grandson and was always present at his theater events.

She is survived by her son, Dave Malkavage; grandson, Sebastian Malkavage; daughter-in-law, Tina Malkavage; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Sally; sister in infancy; and former husband, George Malkavage.

Private family services and interment will be held at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
