Jo A. Caron, age 74, of Faribault, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at her home following an extended illness.
Jo Ann, the daughter of LaVerne and Elizabeth (Huerkamp) Lehmann was born on May 12, 1950 in Rochester, MN. She attended Rochester John Marshall High School and graduated with the class of 1968. On February 19, 1972 she was united in marriage to Ronald Caron. They later divorced. Jo began working at the Mayo Clinic and then moved to Sheldahl, now Multek, in Northfield, MN and worked for many years until her retirement. Jo was a tremendous cook and was famous for her apple pies. For many years, Jo along with her sisters, Rose and Amy, would bake pies for the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester. One year they made 30 pies and the families loved them. Jo loved hosting Easter at her home and planning special events for everyone attending. She also enjoyed gardening and her beloved cat, Bella.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Caron of Faribault, MN; by her siblings, Rose Gilbertson of Rochester, MN, Teddy (Shirley) Lehmann of Millville, MN and Amy (Cory) Nelson of Rochester, MN; by her sister-in-law, Joan Lehmann of Rochester, MN; by her nieces, nephews, Stacy (Todd) Miller, Jill (Todd) Lentz, Robyn (Rob) Loomis, Mark Gilbertson, Patrick Lehmann (Mara), Angela Lehmann (Brent), Jarek (Karri) Kuehn, Grace Nelson and Bryce Nelson and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James Lehmann.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Elk’s Club in Faribault. Interment will be held at a later date at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Allina Hospice Team, especially Dory and Krin, for the excellent care that was given to Jo.
