Jennifer Folcik Kartes

Jennifer Folcik Kartes, Age 46, of Apple Valley, MN died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 27,2025.

Jennifer was born on April 23, 1978 in Southfield, Michigan to Joanne and Dale Folcik. In 1992 her family relocated to Minnesota where Jennifer graduated from Northfield High School in 1996 and received her Business degree from St. Mary’s College. She was a valued employee as a Business Technology Analyst at US Bank for 22 years and was a recipient of their Legends of Possible Award.

Jennifer loved spending time with her husband of fifteen years, John Paul Kartes, and their two fur babies, Tucker and BooBoo.

Jennifer was always happy to be able to see her parents, siblings and nieces. She had fond memories of time spent with her cousins. Jennifer loved going on group outings with her friends and exploring state and national parks. She enjoyed being on the water and loved going on cruises with her mom.

Jennifer was a fighter and fought against her stage four breast cancer for eleven years. Her family and friends admired her desire to continue her cancer treatment until there were no more treatments to try.

Jennifer is survived by her husband, John Paul Kartes, her father and mother, Dale and Jodi Folcik, her siblings Nathan (Erin) Folcik, and Eric (Jessica) Folcik, her nieces Autumn and Taylor Folcik and her mother -in- law Patricia Terry. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents Alexander and Jessie Folcik and Vincent and Leona Sherako and her father- in- law Mark Terry.

Jennifer was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave N, Faribault MN 55021. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a service at 3:00 p.m.
