Janice "Jan" Priebe, age 76 of Waseca, died on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Mayo Health Systems-Mankato, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church-Wilton, with the Rev. Giles Zimmer, officiating. Interment will be held at the Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.

Visitation will be held at the McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory of Waseca on Saturday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.

Janice Carol, the daughter of Harold and Marvel (Mittelstaedt) Miller, was born on Mother's Day, May 8, 1937, at the Waseca Memorial Hospital. She was baptized at home on June 1, 1937, by Rev. Otto F. Krause. She was later confirmed on March 18, 1951, by Rev. Edgar H. Eifert. Jan attended country school in Waseca county and graduated from Waseca Central High School with the class of 1955.

In June 1955, Jan was married to John F. Praxl at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. To this union, three children were born: Debra, Mark, and Craig. Janice later married Dennis Priebe on July 22, 1993, in Reno, Nevada.

Jan held various work positions throughout Waseca and the surrounding communities, including: Wolf & Habein, Swift & Company, E.F. Johnson Company, Round Bank, Valley Bank of Waseca & Mankato, and most recently at Kritzer Oil. She loved life and also loved to read, do crossword puzzles, Sudoku, collecting antiques, traveling to several foreign countries, playing cards with her many card groups and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Jan always looked forward to decorating her yard and home for the Garden Walk and Christmas Walk. She was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #228 of Waseca.

Jan is survived by her husband, Dennis Priebe of Waseca; her children, Debra (Douglas) Mosser of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Mark (Julie) Praxl of Waseca, Craig (Jodi) Praxl of Bowling Green, KY; her grandchildren, Nathan and Tyler Mosser, Andrew, Mitchell and Jacob Praxl and Amber (Daniel) Praxl-Rosbottom; her great grandson, Mason Rosbottom, and her mother, Marvel Miller of Waseca. Jan is also survived by her step children, Bob (Gretchen) Priebe, Debra (Joe) Hoehn, Joe (Annie) Priebe and Paula Priebe, all of Waseca; her step grandchildren, Michael and Marcus Priebe, Joe Jr., Jesse, Abbe, Anna, and Jimmy Hoehn, Tanner and Hunter Pehrson, Madi, Jack, and Alli Priebe; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Delores) Weller, John (Marcia) Priebe and Yvonne Priebe and by many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Miller; her sister, Joyce Miller; her stepson, Terry Priebe; her brothers-in-law, Gerald Priebe, Wayne Praxl, and James Praxl and by other cousins and friends.

Casket bearers are: Andrew Praxl, Nathan Mosser, Joe Hoehn Jr, Tanner Pehrson, Michael Priebe and Jack Priebe.

Honorary bearers are: Mitchell Praxl, Jacob Praxl, Tyler Mosser, Amber Praxl, Marcus Priebe, Madi Priebe, Alli Priebe, Jesse Hoehn, Abbe Hoehn, Anna Hoehn, Jimmy Hoehn and Hunter Pehrson.
