Janet M. Low

Janet M. Low, age 83, of Faribault, MN, passed away July 6, 2023, at Milestone Senior Living in Faribault.

Janet Marie was born on July 1, 1940, in Faribault, MN, to Clarence and Olive (Thom) Low.  She graduated from Bethlehem Academy High School with the class of 1958.  Janet attended University of Wisconsin-Stout, completing her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education. Janet was an educator her entire career, teaching Home Economics in Ballaton, MN, Adams, MN, and mostly in St. Charles, MN, until her retirement.  She loved teaching and caring for her students.  Janet later moved back to her family’s farm in Faribault.  She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was the family historian.

She is survived by her sisters, Jean Low, and Gail McGillen (Peter); nephew, Aaron (A.J.) McGillen; great nephews and niece, Hunter McGillen, Everett McGillen, Brooklyn McGillen, and Patrick McGillen; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Olive; and her nephew, Ryan McGillen.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault.  Private family services will follow the visitation.  Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault.
