James Swenson

James P. Swenson, age 64 of New Ulm, died on Monday, September 26, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester from Pulmonary Fibrosis.   Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 4th at 1:00 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville with Rev. Dr. Scott E. Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato.   The Swenson Family will greet friends on Tuesday afternoon from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.   James Peter was born on June 27, 1947 in Mankato, Minnesota to Clair and Ruetta (Beck) Swenson. He graduated from Mankato High School. James served in the United States Navy from March 1, 1966 until his honorable discharge on November 3, 1969. On June 28, 1975 he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Anton at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. James and Mary raised their family and resided in Cambria, they later divorced. He was currently employed by Holm Industries Inc. in New Ulm, and had been with their company for 37 ½ years. James enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings and Twins, bicycling, fishing, playing cards and scrabble. He thoroughly enjoyed time spent with friends and family, especially his grandson Alaric.   He is survived by his mother Ruetta Swenson of Mankato; by his daughter, Becky Noblick and grandson Alaric Noblick, both of St. Peter; by his two sons, Justin Swenson of Dallas, TX and Zachary Swenson of Minneapolis; by his sister, Jolayne (Ted) Almquist of San Antonio TX; by his brother, Steve (Kathleen) Swenson of Alabama; and by his sister-in-law Lois Swenson of Pequot Lakes.   He was preceded in death by his father, Clair Swenson and his brother Larry Swenson.
