James Fredrickson

James "Bud" Fredrickson, age 84 of Faribault, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at his home following a sudden illness.             Memorial services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault, with Rev. Steven J. Kuehne, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault with military honors provided by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.             Memorial visitation will be held on Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church.             Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.             James Elwood Fredrickson, the son of Joseph and Selma (Grothe) Fredrickson was born on August 7, 1925 in Faribault. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater from 1944-1946. Bud worked as a foreman at Libby Co. in Rochester for 15 years, then for 17 years in the wood shop at Nutting Truck & Caster Co. in Faribault. He also worked as custodian at the Faribault Eagles club and in the kitchen at St. Olaf College. He married Florence Krofcheck on October 17, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault. She preceded him in death on May 27, 1978. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1562.             He is survived by two brothers, Roger (Carol) Fredrickson of Zumbrota and Joyce (Colleen) Fredrickson of Wanamingo; four sisters, Roslyn Thoreson of Zumbrota, Charlene (Glennis) Anfinson of Wanamingo, Marcia (Joe) Goplen of Zumbrota, and Diane (Obert) Braaten of Virginia; three step-grandchildren, Jim (Debbie) Schema, Richard "Dick" (Sue) Schema, and Jeanne (Joe) Jandro Schema; 6 step-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bud (Linda) Davidson of Wanamingo; and other relatives and friends.             He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; parents; step-daughter Alnielas Schema; sister, Barbara Davidson; brother and sister-in-law, Gary (Eleanor) Fredrickson; and brother-in-law, Hiram Thoreson.
