Howard Voegele

Howard J. Voegele, age 66, of Faribault, died Monday, August 25, 2008.    Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault with Dan Wesley, Deacon of Divine Mercy Catholic Church officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.    Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.         Howard Joseph Voegele, the son of Arthur and Mary (Weber) Voegele, was born on March 15, 1942 in Morristown, MN. He attended Medford High School and graduated with the class of 1960. Following high school, Howard served in the United States Air Force for four years. On December 21, 1968 he was united in marriage to Donna Honken at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Howard worked at Crown Cork and Seal and Johnson Construction, until he was injured and had to quit that type of work. Howard began working at the Faribault Regional Center as a Human Service Technician, a position he held for 25 years until his retirement. Howard was a skilled and talented craftsman. It didn't matter if it was woodworking, carpentry or plumbing, he was a perfectionist at any of these and he would make sure each job was to his exact liking before he completed it. He was also very generous with his talents. Howard enjoyed being with family and friends and playing cards and gambling.    He is survived by his wife Donna Voegele of Faribault; by five children, Jeff (Darlene) Dawald, John (Betty) Dawald, Jenny Vangilder, Jody (Craig) Ohnstad all of Faribault and Craig (Rochelle) Voegele of Medford; by ten grandchildren; by his sister, Peggy (Al) Sellers of Nerstrand and by his brother, John (Hisako) Voegele of Long Beach, CA and other relatives and friends.    He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Carol Brown and two brothers, Dennis and Walter Voegele.
