Howard Raths

Howard C. Raths, age 94 of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at the Oakwood Hills Adult Foster Care in Faribault.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N. in Faribault with the Rev. Heather Hammond, Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Faribault officiating, followed by fellowship. Interment will be held at the Cottage Grove Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family prefers that memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Foundation in memory of Howard.

Howard Clifford, the son of Arthur and Louis (Riemenschneider) Raths was born on January 6, 1924 in St. Paul, MN. He was united in marriage to Ruby Fick on July 8, 1950 in Lake City, MN. They started their farming life on Howard's family farm in Newport, and later farmed in Kenyon, Claremont, Zumbrota and Faribault. On the farm Howard enjoyed caring for his horses and when they moved into Faribault he loved living on the water near the King Mill Dam. Together they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome across the United States and especially enjoyed when their grandchildren would come on their trips.

He is survived by his children, Peggy (Bob) Tri of Zumbrota, MN and Ron Raths of Rochester, MN; daughter-in-law, Nancy Raths of Wanamingo, MN; brother-in-law, Robert Elm of Woodbury, MN; by 11 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Donald Raths and by two sisters, Lillian Elm and Lucille Schilling.
