Hilda Goltz

Hilda C. Goltz, age 88 of Janesville, died on Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Janesville Nursing Home.   Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin officiating. Interment will be in the St. John's-Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township, Waseca County.    Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville, and will continue on Tuesday morning for one hour prior to services, at church.   Hilda Christine was born on February 27, 1920 in Wolsey, South Dakota to Henry and Lydia (Lenz) Wagner. She attended St. John's Lutheran Parochial School in Wolsey. In the early 1930's Hilda's family moved to Freedom Township, Waseca County, Minnesota. Hilda worked as a home health aide in the area. She was united in marriage on September 21, 1940 to Frederick Edward Goltz. They raised their family and farmed in Janesville Township until moving into Janesville in 1955. Hilda also worked for 37 years at Birds Eye in Waseca. She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville and former member of its Ladies Aid.    She is survived by her daughter Marlene (David) Lau of Pemberton; by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter; by her sister-in-law Bernice Wagner of Owatonna, and by many nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her husband in Dec. of 1985, and her son Melvin in Feb. of 1989; by five brothers Ernest, August, Henry, Bernard, and Paul Wagner.   Casketbearers are: Don Goltz, Michael Goltz, David Lau, Clark Koplen, Kevin Rathai, and Rodney Jungemann.
