Helen Youngerberg

Helen E. Youngerberg, age 89, of Janesville passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at the Janesville Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Alma City, Minnesota with Pastor Keith Bilitz officiating. Interment will be held at Smiths Mill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Helen Esther, daughter of Theodore and Esther (Haase) Conrath, was born on June 29, 1926 in Elysian Township in Le Sueur County. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's German Lake Lutheran Church in rural Waterville. She attended country school and school in Le Center, MN. She was united in marriage to Harold Youngerberg on September 4, 1947 at St. Paul's German Lake Church. Helen was a homemaker for most of her life, always taking care of her family. She enjoyed baking, listening to old time music, watching game shows, and socializing with her family and friends. Helen was a member of St. John's Church, the ladies' aid group, and the Janesville American Legion.

Helen is survived by her children, Daryl (Linda) Youngerberg and Deanna Youngerberg, both of Janesville; grandson, Nick Youngerberg (Cassie Goodnough) of Janesville; brother-in-law, Clarence Youngerberg of Janesville; sisters-in-law, Melvina Conrath of Waseca and Eleanor Youngerberg of Mankato; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in 2010; parents; step-mother, Dora; brother, Milton Conrath; father and mother-in-law, Herman and Martha Youngerberg; sister-in-law, Ruth Youngerberg; brother-in-law, Herbert Youngerberg; and brother and sister-in-law, Reuben and Verna Youngerberg.
