Harvey D. Hanson, age 77, of Faribault, MN, died Friday, May 22, 2015, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN due to injuries sustained in a pedestrian/vehicle accident.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault, with the Very Reverend Justin P. Chapman, Dean of the Cathedral, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault on Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. The Faribault Eagles will conduct a memorial service on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Harvey Delmar was born on August 4, 1937, in Faribault to Delmar (Carl) and Phyllis (Code) Hanson. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1955. Harvey was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was the owner/operator of his own trucking service starting in 1956. Harvey hauled grain, feed, and milk locally and regionally for 57 years. He was united in marriage to Shirley Boesen on September 13, 2003 at the Episcopal Cathedral in Faribault. Harvey was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles and a life member of the Faribault Moose Lodge 2098. He loved customizing older trucks and cars. His interests also included street rods and was a member of the
Drag-ons club.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hanson of Faribault; son, Tony Hanson (fiancé, Kerri Ellegard) of Minnesota Lake; granddaughter, Alicen Hanson; step-children, Kallob Boesen of Kenyon, MN, Tatum (Brian) Williams of LeMars, IA, and Alana (Jason) Stinehart of Lakeville, MN; step-grandchildren, Addison and Brady Williams, and Joshua, Noah, and Aiden Stinehart; brother, Myron (Barbara) Hanson of Eagan, MN; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Phyllis.
