Harry Mydra Cottage Grove, Minn.a�"Harry Mydra, age 92, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Norris Square, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Harry Mydra grew up in the shadow of the "L" in Chicago. From his start from modest means, Harry went on to great success. He served proudly in the Merchant Marine during World War II. After the war, Harry started his career with State Farm Insurance that lasted almost 50 years. He served his clients well. Everyone knew Harry; he was both well respected and also a little bit of a character. Those who knew Harry always had a fond memory or story to tell. We will all dearly miss Harry. Harry was the youngest and the last to pass away of eight brothers and sisters. His wife, Jeanette, passed away in 2012. He is survived by his sons Richard (and Susan) Mydra and Michael Mydra (and Caroline Herbeck), his daughter Marcia Mydra McCormick (Scot McCormick); grandchildren Erik Nelson; Jonathan, Katherine, Joseph, Daniel, Christopher, and Madeline Mydra, great-grandson Kenneth Nelson and dear friend, LaVerne (Peg) Partridge. Interment of ashes will be held at a family gathering on Saturday, June 20, at the Saint Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault. We remember Harry fondly; Harry was Harry, and everybody knew Harry.
