Harriet H. Brossard, age 85, of Waterville, MN, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Lake Shore Inn Nursing Home in Waseca, MN after a lengthy battle with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault, MN on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and will continue at 4:00 pm with a gathering and meal at the Faribault Moose Lodge.
Harriet Helen, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Gonitzke) Holzapfel, was born on December 2, 1931 in Mankato, MN. Harriet graduated from Mankato High School. On June 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to Richard Brossard in Mankato. Together they lived in Mankato until 1966 when they moved to East Brunswick, NJ. They would move to Faribault in 1972 and also lived in the Morristown, Cedar Lake area until 2005 when they moved to Waterville. Harriet worked at several businesses in Faribault including, Grandias Gifts and Crafts, Faribo Snack Shop, Midwest Vision Center and KDHL-Power 96 radio until her retirement. Harriet enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to entertain and have a great time and it was during these times that she was known for her special dance. Dick and Harriet traveled extensively and especially enjoyed the winters spent in Texas and Arizona. She also enjoyed playing dice, boating and camping.
She is survived by her husband Richard Brossard of Waterville, MN; by her four children, Bonnie (Warren) Smith of Faribault, MN, Peggy (Dennis) Jorgenson of Mankato, MN, Dianne (Carl) White of Faribault, MN and Tom Brossard of Millville, MN; by nine grandchildren, Melanie (James) Sanchez, Rebecca Bailey, Elizabeth (Terry) Wachter, Tanya (Nate) Scherf, Shane Jorgenson, Carl (Kristi) White, Richard (Haide) White, Valerie (Mario) Capra and Chrystal Gasner; by 18 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Joseph Holzapfel and her sister Genevieve Peterson.
The family prefers that memorials be directed to the CurePSP Foundation in memory of Harriet.
