Guy Albers

Guy R. Albers, age 56 of Le Center, MN passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems, New Prague Hospital.

Guy Richard, the son of Paul and Donna (Kolb) Albers was born on April 25, 1965 in Northfield, MN.  He attended Faribault Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1983.  Following high school Guy served nine years in the U.S. Navy, most of those years on a submarine.  He was very proud of his time served in the Navy and would often tell others that.  After his honorable discharge he began working at Con Agra and later moved to Michael’s Foods.  For the past seven years he worked as the Chief Boiler Operator at the Faribault Correctional Facility.  Guy was a private independent person who loved his solitude.  He never wanted to be a burden to anyone.  He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed his time at the family cabin near Cook, MN.  He also loved his guns.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Becky) Johnston of Winona, MN, Jackie Albers of Le Center, MN and Josh Albers of St. Peter, MN; by his parents, Paul and Donna Albers of Faribault; by his brothers, Gary (Colleen) Albers of Zumbrota, MN and Todd Albers of Owatonna, MN; by his sister-in-law, Jillene Albers of Faribault and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Albers, grandparents, Harold and Dorothy Albers and Frank and Hazel Kolb, aunt, Bonnie Kopischke and uncle, Gene Albers.

Friends and family are invited to graveside services on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rolling Green Cemetery in Northfield, MN with military honors conducted by the Rice County Central Veterans Association.  For those who cannot make it due to weather conditions, please know your love is with us.

A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
