Gregory F. Heil, age 52, of Faribault, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident near Ellendale, MN.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault, with Bernadette Tatge, pastoral minister at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, officiating.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Gregory Francis Heil was born on March 8, 1962, in Faribault to Douglas and Janice (Caron) Heil. He attended Faribault parochial schools. Greg lived and worked for many years in Sioux Falls, SD. There he worked at HyVee then at Lewis Drug Stores, where he was a shift leader at both businesses. While in Sioux Falls, Greg owned several properties and enjoyed real estate management. In 1999, he married Jodi Rust and they were later divorced. He later moved back to Minnesota and was employed at HyVee in Owatonna, also as a shift leader. Greg had a tremendous passion for Muskie fishing and loved to spend time with his family. He also enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting.
He is survived by siblings, Randy Heil, Connie (Mike) Borst, Karlene (Kerry) Bleninger, and Ben (Sarah) Heil, all of Faribault; his father, Douglas (Joni) Heil of Faribault; step-father, Lawrence Borst of Faribault; step-siblings, Teresa (Cliff) Ennis of Faribault, Larry Jr. (Michele) Borst of Cross Lake, MN, Carmen (Richard) Breyer of Faribault, Sharon (Richard) Schuman of Morristown, Cheryl (Mark) Moriarity of Morristown, and Connie (Bob) Gersemehl of Faribault; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Borst; and brother in infancy, Dale Heil.
