Geraldine Alverna Glynn, the daughter of Earl and Louise (Dressen) Glynn was born on September 10, 1919 at her family farm in Tyler, MN. Geri was a strong willed, determined woman of Irish, English and German descent. She knew what she wanted and went for it. She would move with her parents to Faribault and became a nanny/housekeeper where she learned to cook, which came in handy for her large family of nine children as years went by. On April 4, 1940 she was united in marriage to Cyril Caron at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. After their marriage they lived on a farm near Dundas, MN until 1947 when they moved to the farm where most of her children were born. Cyril preceded her in death in 1988. Geri enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, plus the canning that came from a fruitful produce harvest. She was an avid quilter, making sure all her family and grandchildren had one of her homemade quilts. She daily enjoyed her crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune. She relished Christmas and the Fourth of July gatherings with all of her family. In the 70's and 80's she worked at Farmer Seed & Nursery for the Spring prep for many years.

Mom continued to live on the farm for 62 years until 2009, at age 89, when she moved in with her son and daughter-in-law in Faribault, preferring to continue her life in a rural setting.

Being a devoted, strong Catholic, after she was unable to attend church in person, she faithfully watched Mass on TV daily as well as praying the rosary. She would invite us all to join her when we visited at 6 a.m. in the morning!!

She died peacefully in her own time at the golden age of 95. Her children rejoice in her life, are happy that she is now in Heaven with her Savior, and will miss her deeply. Mom, you had a GREAT LIFE. Love you!

She is survived by her 7 children, Marlys (Donald) Hora of Montgomery, MN, Dale (Jan) Caron of Faribault, Ronald (Faye) Caron of Faribault, Joanne (Dave) Decker of Rochester, MN, Linda (Byron) O'Connor of Medford, MN, Carol (Wally) Ahrens of Farmington, MN and Denise (Mark) Aschenbrener of Hugo, MN; by 25 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren; by two brothers, Jim (Donna) Glynn and Dennis (Elaine) Glynn, both of Faribault; by a sister-in-law, Mavis Caron of Faribault and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Thomas in infancy, daughter Janice Caron-Eyre, daughter-in-law Jan Caron, and sister-in-law Patricia Glynn.
