Gene A. Miller, age 78 of Kenyon, MN passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at his home following an extended illness.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at The River Community Church in Faribault, MN with Pastor Steve Crombie officiating.
Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault.
Gene Albert, the son of Clarence and Ethel (Klapel) Miller was born on July 2, 1940 in Brainerd, MN. Gene grew up in Brainerd and attended Brainerd High School. Gene served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971. On June 10, 1966 he was united in marriage to Linda Gilmer in Sisseton, SD. After their marriage they lived in different communities including, Northfield, Faribault and Kenyon. Gene worked for 32 years at Land O Lakes in Faribault. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, target shooting, his horses, working around the hobby farm, taking road trips and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Miller of Kenyon, MN; by two children, Scott Miller of Dennison, MN and Kimberly (Brad) Johnson of Faribault, MN; by his brother, Norman (Nadine) Miller of Brainerd, MN; by five grandchildren, Brian (Nichole) Miller of Faribault, Shauna (Daniel) Limon of Dennison, Chelsea (Jose) Morales of Faribault, Dylan Miller of Kenyon and Timothy Bennington Jr. of Faribault; by 14 great grandchildren; by his children from a previous marriage, Terry Millsap of Ham Lake, MN, Jim (Mary Lou) Miller of Rosemount, MN and Jerry (Shannon) Miller of Fosston, MN and by many grandchildren and great grandchildren and by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, by his sister, Priscilla Magnan and by several cousins.
