Gary Tungland

Gary T. Tungland, age 71 of Faribault, MN passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home following a sudden illness.

Memorial visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.  Interment will be held at the Kenyon Cemetery, Kenyon, MN.

Gary Thor, the son of Thor and Jeanette (Nelson) Tungland, was born on December 17, 1948 in Minneapolis, MN.  He attended Fairmont High School and graduated with the class of 1965.  In 1971 he was united in marriage to Linda Brockman and they later divorced.  Gary worked for over 30 years as the grounds maintenance supervisor for Jennie-O Turkey Store in Faribault.  He enjoyed fishing, time spent relaxing and loved to shop for cars and negotiate a good deal.

He is survived by two sons, Troy (Robyn) Tungland of Rochester, MN and their sons, Tanner and Joshua and Travis Tungland of Fairmont, MN; by his brother, Roger Tungland of Faribault, MN and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry “Whitey” Tungland and sister, Mavis Tungland.
