Gail had a full and amazing life. As a young married couple, she and Kenneth moved to California from their hometown of Faribault.
She worked as an office assistant at the port of Long Beach, CA. While her children were young, she went back to school to earn her teaching credentials and master’s in library science and media production. She spent her career as a librarian at an elementary school. One of her innovations was she introduced integrating art into the library program.
During summers off she drove her children to Minnesota to visit family. They would camp at every National Park between California and Minnesota.
Throughout her life, Gail was always involved in things that resolved around community. She was an avid bridge player in several clubs, had season tickets to several theaters and orchestras, and volunteered at a local hospital giving children tours on Saturdays.
In her later years, she was a very involved grandma in the lives of her 5 grandchildren. She would take all 5 grandchildren to theaters and out to fancy dinners. In retirement, she traveled and saw the world. From hot air ballooning over the Serengeti in Africa to riding elephants in Thailand. Christmas was spent cruising the Rhone River to visit Germany’s Christmas markets or midnight mass in Prague. She never lost her love of the game of bridge, her rosary, and asking after the family. She is preceded in death by her daughter Stephanie Caroline.
