Gail M. Bongers, age 85 of Faribault, MN passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the District One Hospital in Faribault following a short illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault, with Fr. Matthew Northenscold, officiating. Interment will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Faribault.
Visitation will be held at the new location of Parker Kohl Funeral Home, 1725 Lyndale Ave. N., Faribault on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday for one hour prior to services.
Gail Marie, the daughter of Michael and Margaret (Forcelle) Clark, was born on October 2, 1932 in Faribault. She attended Bethlehem Academy High School and graduated with the class of 1950. On April 11, 1951 she was united in marriage to Marvin Bongers at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Faribault. Marvin preceded her in death on April 26, 2003. After their marriage Gail stayed at home to raise their family and later worked as the office manager at Murphy Motor Lines/Grathen Transfer with Marvin. They also farmed for many years in Cannon City Township. Spending time with her family was always a highlight for Gail, especially time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips to the casino, playing cards and bowling for many years.
She is survived by her children, Dan (Marilyn) Bongers of Owatonna, MN, Julie (Bob) Teske, Deb Bongers and Mike Bongers all of Faribault; by 13 grandchildren, Tina (DJ) Bokman, Justin Teske (Gina), Crystal (Tom) Underdahl, Roberta (Darryl) Chew, Nicole (Aaron) Feist, Cory Drengenberg (Crystal), Matthew Drengenberg (Ariel), Esther (Matt) Tabor, TJ Neitzel (Kacie), Megan Bongers (Marcus), Hanna Jo Bongers (Tjuan), Zachary Bongers and Jonathan Ferris; by 24 great grandchildren; by sister-in-law, Connie Clark of Faribault; by brother-in-law, Bernie (Mary) Bongers of Faribault, special friend, Val Pedlar and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Patricia Ziebarth and four brothers, Michael, Charles, Gerald "Tom" and Duane Clark.
