Frieda Ellingson, age 105, of Faribault and formerly of South Minneapolis, died on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of Our Merciful Saviour in Faribault with the Reverend Henry Doyle, officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to services on Thursday. Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault. Frieda E. Roedecker, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Opplinger) Roedecker, was born on September 12, 1905 in Switzerland. She married Harold Ellingson and he later preceded her in death. Frieda worked at the Forman Ford Paint Company in Golden Valley for many years prior to retiring and moving to Faribault in 1998. She was an avid twins fan and even had the chance to celebrate her 105th birthday with them in Faribault. Frieda enjoyed playing cards with the card club and spending time with her pets. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jean (Larry) Thomas of Faribault, Carol (Kim) Tipka of Pine Island, Mark (Shelley) Roedecker of Faribault, Lloyd (Pat) Ellingson of Eden Prairie and Bernice Duponté of White Bear Lake and by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her sister Erna Roedecker and her brother Walter Roedecker.
