Franklin Gonzalez Jr., age 63 of Faribault, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 1, 2018 at his home.
Private family services will be held.
Franklin was born on July 1, 1954 in Corpus Christi, TX to Franklin Sr. and Eliza (Cortez) Gonzalez. He graduated from Texas School for the Deaf in 1974. He moved to the area and worked at the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf for 12 years. Most recently Franklin was employed with Cutting Edge Cabinet in Lakeville, MN. Franklin was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan! He loved to work around the yard, and assemble car model kits and paint them. Franklin always had great love for his children and would be there when they needed him most. He also had a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his daughters, Stella Gonzalez and Kayla Gonzalez; sons, Lance Gonzalez (Justine Jeter) and Dustin Gonzalez; granddaughter, Jade Gomez; three siblings; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Aurelia; mother, Eliza; brother, Juan; and Bonnie Protextor, mother of Lance, Dustin, and Kayla.
Private family services will be held.
